Abstract

James Joyce is often regarded as the most influential English-speaking author of

the first half of the twentieth century. He was a towering presence in the modernist

literary period. Joyce's fame is mostly based on his piece of prose writing, despite the

fact that he was a writer who worked in a variety of genres, including theater and lyric

poetry. The novels written by Joyce, such as A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man

(1916) and Ulysses (1922), are often regarded as being among the most groundbreaking

works of fiction ever written. The literary works of James Joyce are among the most

extensively read and researched figures in the history of English literature. Joyce is

often regarded as having a skill that is comparable to that of John Milton and William

Shakespeare.
