Ethical Issues in Social Science Research

Abstract

While many ethical considerations should go into every research effort, the

majority of the literature on the subject has been on experimental studies like clinical

trials when it comes to health research. This means that the ethical considerations that

should guide social research on health are not always crystal clear. When designing,

conducting, and reporting on social research, CAM researchers should keep in mind the

many ethical considerations highlighted in this article. In social research, upholding

ethical norms is crucial for several reasons, including the safety of participants and

researchers, the accuracy of the data collected, and the availability of community

members willing to participate in future studies.
